Mike:  Hello, I’m Mike Wasik.

Kailey:  Hi, I’m Kailey Caballero class of ’22 here at Trumbull High.

Mike:  We’re here to present the Jay Shannon Memorial Scholarship.  Jay was a good friend of mine.  I graduated High School with him in ’96 and we were good friends then and for many years after.

Kailey:  Me, personally, I have not known Jay Shannon but honestly, I wish I have because of the great things I heard about him being a friendly, creative person and pursuing the animation arts.  It really inspires me and I hope it inspires many others to carry on his legacy.  Therefore, I would like to award this next Jay Shannon Memorial Scholarship to Camryn Blank who will be studying Writing for Film and TV along with TV Production at Chapman University.

Dear family and friends,

This year is the 14th anniversary for the Jay Shannon Memorial Scholarship at Trumbull High School. Your generous donations have assisted many talented aspiring artists to date. Thanks to your continuing support, we have been able to increase the amount awarded as the years progress. We are pleased to announce this year’s scholarship will be $1,600! With this year’s scholarship over $15,000 has been awarded to students pursuing studies in the arts. It is a wonderful tribute to honor our son Jay. Thank you and we are truly grateful for all the generous donations throughout these 14 years.

All contributions are deeply appreciated; no gift is too small. Donations of $25.00 or more, will receive a collectable Star Wars Figure from our son Jay’s classic Star Wars collection and all donations are tax deductible.
