Dear Family and Friends,
I saw a shooting star! It was so bright and clearly defined, shooting across the sky above and in front of me! It lasted but a second, and then it was gone. How beautiful, rare, and memorable it was! So unexpected; not at all the time of year when shooting stars are prevalent in the skies. My mind lingered on the shooting star long after it was gone.
Our son Jay is like a shooting star. His life was brief but bright, clear, and definitely memorable. We treasure the time we had with him and look forward to the day when we will see him again.
To honor his memory, one of the things we have started is a scholarship fund in Jay's name. It is to be given to a Trumbull High School senior who plans to continue on in their education for a career in Art; just as Jay did. The first scholarship recipient, Emily Clemente went on to study Photography at the School of Visual Arts and last year's recipient, Steven Sikora is also pursuing a degree in Photography at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley College.
This will be the third year since we started the scholarship. Thanks to so many of you in the past we are able to increase this year's scholarship amount to $700!
And now we are asking for your help again so we could keep this scholarship in Jay‚s name going for many years to come. If you donate an amount of $25 or more, you will receive a Star Wars figure from Jay's own Star Wars collection. No amount is too large or small.
